영어회화 day 22 - 기억을 잘 못해 + 데이트

I'm not very good at remembering names.

저는 이름을 잘 기억 못해요

 

when I taught students at language institutes

어학원에서 학생을 가르칠 때

 

I often got the student's names mixed up.

학생들의 이름을 자주 혼동했어요.

 

It usually took me a while to remember their names correctly.

학생들의 이름을 맞게 기억하는 데는 시간이 좀 걸렸어요.

Remember the other day I told you about a guy asking my number?
지난 번에 내 번호 물어봤다는 남자애 얘기 해준 거 기억나?

I went out with him yesterday, and it turned out to be the worst first date ever.
어제 그 남자랑 데이트 했는데, 완전 인생 최악의 첫데이트였어.

It seemed okay until we finished dinner.
저녁 다 먹을 때 까진 괜찮아 보였어.

He took me to this fancy restaurant and we enjoyed our meal.
그 사람이 고급 레스토랑 데려가서 같이 즐겁게 밥 먹었거든.

We went to the bar afterwards, and he had a little too much of his drink.
그러고나서 바에 갔는데, 술을 좀 많이 드셨더라고.

He began talking about his ex-girlfriend!
갑자기 지 전여친 얘기를 하기 시작하는거야!

He started off by bitching about her.
처음 시작은 뒷담까면서 얘기하던데

But as I listened, it was so obvious that he still has feelings for her.
얘기 들을수록 아직 전여친한테 미련 남아있다는 게 너무 확실하더라니까. 

I was like “What am I doing here?”
난 속으로 "나 여기서 뭐하고 있는거지?" 이랬어

He’s still texting me but nope, I think we’re done here.
아직 나한테 카톡하는데 흥 우린 여기까지야.
